Chair of Uruguay's Energy and Water Regulator (URSEA)

Silvana Romero is a chemical engineer with graduate studies in marketing, specializing in the development and management of projects related to the modernization of management in public and private organizations and the incorporation of new technological tools for management. She has chaired the Regulatory Unit of Energy and Water Services of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay since March 2020.

She was a member of MERCOSUR’s Environmental Task Group to identify existing asymmetries in the environmental legislation of the member countries. She has been a consultant in national and international public organizations, with an emphasis on administrative process analysis and streamlining. She has led the preparation of more than 2000 proposals and 150 contracts that have generated projects resulting in a cumulative turnover of 136 million dollars.
