María Julia Aybar Solis

Vice president and general manager of PERU LNG

María Julia is a lawyer from the law school of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and has a postgraduate degree from the Universidad de Lima. She participated in the teaching of specialization courses related to the legislation of the hydrocarbons sector, including the regulation of natural gas.

She started working in the oil and gas sector in the legal department of Perupetro (a government entity that manages the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Peru).

For almost ten years she worked as an associate and later as a partner at Estudio Muñiz, where she deployed her experience in the different areas of hydrocarbon activities. She participated in advising the companies of the Camisea Project in all its phases: exploitation, transportation and distribution, as well as financing.

Likewise, she held the position of legal manager of PERU LNG from February 2006 to December 2016. From January 1st 2017 to December 2018, she held the position of general manager.

She is currently vice president of the Hydrocarbons Committee of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE). Also, she is currently vice president and general manager of PERU LNG.
