Hydrocarbon Quality Manager from the Regulating Authority of Costa Rica's Public Services (ARESEP)

María Elena Martín is a chemical engineer, and holds a Master's Degree in Hydrocarbon Management with a major in Statistics and Data Analysis. She was part of the team that led the LPG cylinder replacement campaign. Currently, she works for the Regulatory Authority of Public Services of Costa Rica, where she has been coordinating the Gaseous Fuel Quality Program of the Energy Office since 2014.

Her work focuses on the evaluation and continuous improvement of the quality of the public fuel service, technical advice to the institution for data-driven decision-making, and policy, project and regulatory tool proposal, development, and implementation as part of the articulation between stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
