The most important Energy Regulation Forum in the world is inaugurated in Lima

A milestone for Peru. Today the VIII World Forum on Energy Regulation was inaugurated, a world-class event organized by Osinergmin, which brings together the presidents and representatives of regulatory bodies from more than 40 countries in America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and Asia. For the first time, a South American country is hosting the most important energy regulation event in the world.
The inauguration was carried out by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera, the president of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators, David Danner and the president of the Board of Directors of Osinergmin, Omar Chambergo.
"At a time of unprecedented global transformation, our country is presented as a living example of the richness and diversity of nature, as well as the culture that unites us. Therefore, it is a privilege for Osinergmin to host the eighth edition of the World Forum on Energy Regulation, which we have prepared with great dedication to achieve the success of this world event that will contribute, from the perspective of the regulation of the energy sector, in building a sustainable and resilient future", said Chambergo Rodriguez.
This is a technical event of the highest level that will address issues that have a direct impact on people's lives, as well as caring for our planet by reducing carbon emissions.
As recalled, energy is key to economic and social development, it is essential for the well-being of homes and commercial activities; and the quality of various public services, such as education and health, depend on it.
Thus, information and good practices will be shared from different realities in the energy transition processes, the development of renewable energies, electromobility, the impact of climate change in the energy sector, among others.
The VIII World Forum on Energy Regulation was considered on the official agenda of the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru due to its magnitude and significance for the country. The previous editions of the World Forum have been held in the main cities of the world such as Washington, Montreal, Rome, Athens, Quebec, Istanbul and Cancún. Our country won the candidacy during the last Forum held in Mexico in 2018 when competing against Austria.
