From August 22 to 25, Peru will host the most important Energy Regulation Forum in the world

Leaders and representatives of regulatory bodies from more than 40 countries have confirmed, so far, their participation in the VIII World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER), which will take place in Lima, from August 22 to 25 of this year. This is the most representative event in the field of energy regulation at a global level and has been organized by Osinergmin.
The Forum is part of the official agenda of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru, and its execution in our country is transcendental, since it is the first time that it is carried out in South America. The previous editions of the WFER have been held in the cities of Washington, Montreal, Rome, Athens, Quebec, Istanbul and Cancun. Our country won the candidacy during the last Forum held in Mexico in 2018 by competing with Austria.
In this eighth edition, the central theme will be: "The challenge of energy transformation: competitiveness and sustainability of energy markets, opportunities and achievements" with four pillars: competitiveness, institutionality, energy transition and universal access to energy. It is expected to have the participation of more than 1,000 attendees, from the world's energy regulators, national and international institutions, as well as representatives of the energy industry and academia, among others.
Likewise, for this important event, the global scope, the sectorial balance and the gender perspective have been considered as criteria to guarantee the representativeness of the different participating countries, which will allow knowing the vision of the energy transformation according to each reality, and have the contributions of recognized women with experience in the sector.
The World Forum of Energy Regulators is, in turn, the main platform of the Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER), which is an international cooperation association that brings together more than 200 energy regulators from all continents, whose main objective is to facilitate understanding of global energy regulation.
This event is a great opportunity for all stakeholders in the energy sector to access a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and the direction this sector is taking, as well as the importance of regulatory work.
